    CGA Technologies is a leading Italian manufacturer of high-performing aluminium evaporator panels.

    Roll-Bond CGA represents the hearth of our civil and commercial cooling systems. New applications of this now consolidated technology have made the Roll-Bond CGA a fundamental part of heat exchange applications in new sectors such as automotives (for battery cooling and thermal management), alternative energy, electronics, and residential and commercial radiant cooling.

    Production process


    ROLL-BOND CGA consists of two sheets of aluminium positioned one on top of the other, inside which a channel is made to allow an exchange fluid to flow (gas or liquid).
    The production cycle starts with the melting of the raw material, which CGA buys in T-bars, and which must have a minimum pure aluminium content of 99.7%.

    The semi- finished coil

    This continuous casting process produces a semi-finished coil, which is the starting point for the next stages of the process to create a ROLL-BOND CGA.


    The rolling and circuit printing process

    The coil is rolled to reduce its thickness as required for carving out panels which the circuit design is stamped onto using a special screen-printing ink.

    Roll-Bond rolling process

    The sheets are then bonded together via a rolling process, which uses pressure and heat to bond two aluminium sheets positioned one on top of the other together.



    The sheets are then moved to the next stage known as inflation, in which channels are made in the circuit. This is achieved using special inflation presses, designed specifically by CGA Technologies.

    Finish and control

    CGA Technologies offers it customers the chance to purchase its panels with different levels of finish. This is because it is the only company in the world that has full and complete control over its production chain, which runs right through to the painted pane


    The incredible flexibility of the technology used allows CGA to manufacture an unlimited number of channelling circuits, making Roll-Bond CGA suitable for any application in the field of heat exchange. Roll-Bond CGA is available in various different types of exchanger panels:


    Channelling on both sides of the exchanger maximises the space inside and optimises heat exchange.


    One side without channelling for a 100% AL 1050 panel. Ideal for quick installation in a concealed space, bonding the panel to the inside surface


    As an evolution of the OSF panel, one surface is made from a magnesium alloy making it perfectly flat.


    A channelled area and a non-channelled area are used on the same side for use in the freezer and fridge at the same time.


    It responds to regulations on the use of flammable gases (R600 Isobutane). By using Roll-Bond, you can install a fridge without it meeting the flameproof requirements (for the lights and thermostat).

    The video shows our circuit working with a water/glycole mixture. The combination between CGA’s channel design and the characteristics of the aluminum of which our Cooling Plates are made, represent  a perfect solution for the Liquid Cooling applications in the Automotive Industry ensuring a  perfect homogeneity  and a very low temperature
